Hair Journey Update

I know it has been forever since I updated my blog on my hair journey that I started towards the end of last year.  Truth is, there have been quite a bit of challenges in both my hair journey and my life.  I've tried MANY products... Some I loved, some I returned!  But overall, I am happy with my results so far.  I am not one for walking around looking a hot mess because I expect people to know I'm on a journey for healthier hair!  So, I wash my hair when needed which is usually once a week.  I flat iron my hair just about once a week... Sometimes every two weeks.  I relax my hair every 8-10 weeks religiously.  I love to bun and I love twist outs.  I love the look of fresh cut healthy hair so I trim my hair immediately when its needed (usually every 2 months).  I did not take the drastic road of stretching my relaxers, no manipulation and other forms of hair care because it simply was not for me.  I take into consideration that I do my own hair weekly and have not been to a salon in over a decade.  This means that I am entitled to buy expensive hair products and treatments every now and then.  The cost of a $50 hair treatment is priceless when I've been doing my own hair since I was 15 years old!  Now on to the pictures!

Products I've Been Using Religiously:

Coconut Oil
Jojoba Oil
Redken Soft Shampoo
Kenra Deep Conditioner
Joico Moisture Balm
Aveda Damage Remedy Daily Hair Repair- NEW
Neutrogena Triple Moisture Leave-In (as a moisturizer)- NEW
Keratin Complex Infusion Therapy Deep Conditioner (to stop breakage)- NEW
Keratin Complex Intense Rx (Leave-In)- NEW

Well that's it for my update.  As for the products, I obviously do not use all these products EVERY time I wash my hair... That would just be ridiculous! I use 1 shampoo, 1 conditioner and 1-2 leave-ins each time I wash my hair.  It takes me a total of 1 hour to do my hair from start to finish.  Done are the days of me taking a whole day or even 2 of my weekend to do my hair.  While I do give it more TLC than before, I can not let it consume me.  Anyways, thanks for checking back on my journey and I hope you all having success in yours as well!  Toodles.
