Today Marks 4 Years of Marriage: What I've Learned
As I sit here and reflect over the last 4 years of marriage, there's two words that come to mind. Hard work. No one else seems to believe that it's been 4 years already... except us. Why? Because no one else put in the work that we had to. They weren't around during the struggles. All everyone remembers is that beautiful wedding and poof, now it's been 4 years. LOL. Well let me tell you, marriage is one hell of a mirror. You will end up finding yourself, losin…

The Naturalista Hair Show || Ensemble Selection
As you know (or SHOULD know), I will be heading to The Naturalista Hair Show this weekend at the Silver Spring Civic Center in Maryland. Not only am I a Blogger Affiliate but I was invited to be a speaker on the Blogger Panel. Needless to say, I'm obviously VERY excited and VERY anxious. When I become anxious, one thing that calms my nerves is being as prepared and organized as I possibly can be. So, I've decided to think about what I will be wearing to the event ahead of …

Fall Changes: Cut + Color
I've been itching for some change over the past YEAR I would say. I'm not sure what has kept me from taking the plunge but if I don't do something at this point, I may have a mental meltdown. Later this month, I will be attending The Naturalista Hair Show so I'm trying to narrow down and decide what I want so that I can rock my flyness at the event. I do know that I want need to have my cut re-shaped. It's been over a year since it's been shaped. Not to be…

ColourPop Matte Lip || REVIEW
I know I haven't reviewed a beauty product on here in a little while. Forgive me! Lord knows I'm still buying left and right so I really have no excuse. Well, I'm back reviewing a goodie at least... The uber popular Colour Pop Matte Liquid Lipsticks! These things are all over the 'Gram and it's no wonder at just $6 a pop (see what I just did there? LOL), they're an easy buy. In fact, ColourPop has come to town and shut it down with their reasonable pricing…

BTS x MCS || Quick Meal Ideas
If there is one thing I have mastered, it's the Quick & Easy Weekday Meal. There was a time (this was actually pretty recent) where both my husband and I worked Full Time Corporate jobs outside of the home. We wouldn't get home until 6PM which meant we needed to settle in, check homework, make dinner, eat dinner, do bath time and have personal time in about 4 hours. If you're not careful dinner prep can take up about 50% of this time leaving you feeling rushed and …

This year I wanted to share how I go about getting my family ready to go back to school. We have three whole children in my family and this is the first year that all three will be in school (Kennedy starts Kindergarten). Preparing your home for one child is difficult enough, but I figured as a Mom of three there are a few things that I can share to help ease the stress. This BTS x MCS Series will provide major tips that will definitely get you on the road to success. I'm not …

Curls Girls Rule the World
Recently, I decided to leave my 6+ year career in Hotel Sales to pursuit my passion in Blogging and Content Creating for MyCandiShoppe. This was a decision that took some time to come to with my husband but we knew it was inevitable. I can't say we were even the best prepared for me to resign when I did but I had come to a breaking point. Miserable doesn't even begin to describe how I felt having to go work a job that I had no interest in and was totally draining. It was …

#ManiMonday: Illamasqua Stance
If you caught one of my recent Scopes then you know I am obsessed with Berry lip shades. Well the same actually goes for my nails. I can't tell you how many Berry nail lacquers I have in my stash! They are all pretty much the same shade (slightly different variations), just different brands. LOL Once I find a shade that really works for me or really looks amazing on against my skintone, I usually stick with it. In previous years, that color was Chartreuse and now it's al…

Shoppe Faves Friday: Periscope
Periscope has quickly become an addiction in my household. Of course, when I first took interest everyone else wanted nothing to do with it. My husband tried to stay as far as he could so as not to be included. My sister down in Atlanta didn't have much memory left on her phone and didn't feel Periscope deserved the space. LOL. Yet, each one of them after just one Scope was hooked. My husband swears he has fans now and my sister believes she's a Star on my Scope. It …

Subscription Boxes are good for EVERYONE
I know some of you are shaking your head in disagreement with the title of this post but bear with me. Over the past few years, subscription boxes have become uber popular. Some even forming waitlists, selling out or closing new membership sign-ups. We've all seen the hype surrounding these boxes and a new one is popping up daily. Personally, I'm not a member of any of these Subscriptions but I still see the value in having them around.
Most of us who aren't members o…

Why I Buy My Own Products... (still)
It was about this time last year that I realized how influential my hair journey had become to so many women. On Instagram, many people wanted to know what I was using in my hair or how exactly I styled my hair. Before I knew it, my community was growing in numbers as my Curls were featured on various Natural Hair Accounts. It wasn't too long after that the products were being sent to me for review from companies. It was a dream come true and my husband was over the moon, LOL…

The "E" Word... Let's Talk EDGES
One of the reasons I decided to cut the relaxer out of my hair was because of my thin edges. I also had hair that was thinning as it grew longer with way too much shedding but the edges of my hairline was a huge concern for me. I never had super thick edges growing up, before I even relaxed my hair. My mother kept my hair in cornrows or ponytails for the most part which may have contributed to the thinner hairline. So, 2012 came and I Big Chopped with the biggest hopes of growing…

Running for Beginners
Recently, I shared on Instagram that I am trying to get back into Jogging/Running. Well, to be honest I was never "in" to Jogging or Running, LOL. I use to do it on occasion and never was a great runner. In fact, I dread even walking for long distances because it's tasking on my body especially now that I'm overweight (for my height). I don't know why I never thought to Google a Start-Up Running Plan to properly work my body into Running over time. Normally…
