The Biggest Lesson I Learned in 2017
Edit: I started this Blog Post with the title "7 Things I learned in 2017" because it sounded 'good'. As Blogger/Creator, I'm always looking for images, captions, titles, etc... that capture the attention of you all. These days, we have very little attention to catch to begin with so it's not an easy task. But as I began writing I realized that there was one area of my life that grew in a way that deserved it's own Blog Post. Motherhood. So, I swit…

The M Word... MELTDOWNS
Okay, so we are going to leave our pride, mom awards we give ourselves in our heads and pat on the backs we also give ourselves right here at the beginning of this post. I'm discussing a topic that is very hush hush and frowned upon in child rearing. Meltdowns. They make our mothers cringe when they see our children having one, we stare at other moms in stores with pity yet we all know we have been there at least once before. And, if you haven't been there yet, there'…

Why Does The Grass Always Seem Greener?
If you follow me on Instagram, you know that I recently resigned from my job to be at home with my children. The decision to do so came as my family was making a major move to Atlanta, GA which soon after we decided against. Nonetheless, my husband was finally in a position where we had a choice for me to work or stay at home. Since, the kids were on summer break the decision was made that I just stay home and enjoy the summer with them. It was not and still has not been determin…

Bye Bye Nanny...
I can't believe I am saying this but we are actually giving up our nanny sometime within the next month! We have had one for the past two years almost and while it saved us money at first, it is no longer a necessary cost for our family. Beyond the financial aspects, having a nanny has been so crucial for me being a Working Mom I feel. The guilt I have for not raising my children day in and day out is always there but having a nanny who I know loves them and cares for them as …

I've Been M.I.A!
I know I have been so neglectful on my blog here and I truly apologize! I never thought about how I would manage the balance of working, being a mother, a wife and my blog! I still haven't even figured it out because I've been too busy to sit down and think about it for a second. While I do get off at 5:00 pm EST and on time daily, I am rushing to pick up my older two children from their after school program. Then twice out the week, we go from the after school program to…

Wigging Out!
So in my desire to use protective styling in order to attain length, I am exploring all my options. The latest option is wearing a wig. I have my own personal stereo types but lately I've been seeing some pretty nice wigs on the blogs and on YouTube. They aren't your mother or grandmother type of wigs out there these days. So after running to my local beauty supply store, I decided to go with a wig with length. I didn't want to give the impression that I was wearing a…

My V-Day Plans
So, we decided to tone down our normal Valentine's Day shindigs and do something personal at home. I found a luscious recipe to cook for dinner and we plan on lighting some candles, turning on some light music and really enjoying each other's company. After all, how often do we even do this?! Hardly ever since normally the television is usually on at all times. I got him a Philadelphia Eagles chair to play is video games in and a matching blanket for him to use when he'…

Wedding Palette
So I have finally narrowed down my wedding palette. For me this is very important to do to move forward and begin the decor planning process. Since our wedding is around Valentine's Day, I chose to incorporate very romantic and passion filled colors. I'm not one for very ordinary and "safe" colors but it still needs to be well coordinated. Below is a board I created using an iPad app called Moodboard which I absolutely love. If you dont have it, you definitely n…

Wedding Dress Debates & Other Goodies
Today was a very easy going day. Didn't really do much but over obsess about wedding planning and such. I'm a whole year out so is it too soon to have found a dress?!?! I found one that I love so much and the price is oh so right buuuut... Is it too soon? Well, amidst my wedding dress debates I decided to dabble in a palette I had picked up from Sephora but had not used yet. It's the TEN Limited Edition Collector's Palette by tarte cosmetics. I love the shades be…

Read With Me
Recently, I have wanted to get back into reading again. I use to love to pick up a good book and read but that seems to have been ages ago. I think between children, college and my love life I just didn't have the time anymore. I can't say that I have a ton of time on my hands now but I really just miss reading a really good book. You know, those books that you have a hard time putting down and every chance you get you're trying to read a little more! Man, I truly d…

Date Night A.K.A Save your relationship night!
So, my hunny and I were able to slip out the door on a date this past Friday night and boy did we need it. I wouldn't say we have been arguing a bunch or anything but our lives are based around our children. We wake up and go to sleep with children (sometimes literally when Kennedy sleeps with us! lol). So, occasionally we treat ourselves to a night out without ANY children. This allows for us to have adult conversation without having to press the pause button or use children…

Wedding Date Set!
So as this week has gone on, I have been able to narrow down a date for our wedding! Yaaaay... I know you guys are as excited as I am. Lol. We have two venues that we are looking to book for the wedding and both are fitting for the occasion. We have decided to stay with the small and intimate wedding that we talked about. Having a large lavish wedding is just not our idea of a dream wedding. We want our closest family and friends to come and enjoy our day with us, which actually …

Making It All Balance
With all the challenges and goals I have made for myself, sometimes it feels like I just don't have time for it all. My hair challenge by far has seemed very time consuming in comparison to how much time I use to spend on my hair. Now, I have incorporated my weight challenge and that for sure is harder than I thought. For those of you that don't know, I have a 7 year old daughter named Taylor, a 5 year old son named Gregory and a 7 month old daughter named Kennedy. I like…

Intimate or Lavish?
Lately my mind has been so consumed with wedding planning and already I'm feeling overwhelmed, over budget and under a lot of pressure. So, the thought of scaling back to a small intimate wedding has been a thought. I've always dreamed of this huge party with all my family and friends dancing the night away. But the reality is, we really can't afford exactly what I want! We are stretching every penny, planning tons of DIY projects and really planning carefully so that …
