Products I'm Loving or Hating at the Moment

Over the years I have tried to steer clear of constantly ragging on products.  Why?  Well, some of these smaller businesses can really be affected by poor reviews and bad talk.   If I have a problem with the actual quality of the product or the customer service, I'm definitely going to speak up.  But, if it's just a matter of a product not working well for me then I usually choose not speak on it at all or simply state that it didn't work out for me and leave it at that.  Honestly, I don't come across many products that don't work for me because I've usually done the research prior to purchasing.  This is where Social Media really comes in handy because not only can I read reviews on products but I can visually see what type of hair that person has and determine if I should try the product or not.  Unfortunately, for my followers they don't get to see what didn't work for me and I can see how this might not be so helpful so I've decided to occasionally post about products that I'm LOVING but also products that I'm HATING.

LOVE:  ApHogee Curlific Leave-In Conditioner

I purchased this product at Sally's Beauty Supply store a couple of weeks ago after watching a video on MoKnowsHair blog/channel where she used the ApHogee Keratin and Green Tea Restructurizer on her ends and edges during a Wash and Go.  Initially I went to purchase that product but then saw this new new and decided to give the Curlific Leave-In a try.  I fell in love with this stuff on first use.  The product is a creamy spray in that my hair absorbs fairly quickly.  I concentrate on my ends and edges the most and have noticed that the spray really gives my curls a boost... Not that my coily curls really need to be any curlier! LOL.  With Wash and Go season here, this product will definitely be a staple in my regimen.  I've already decided to go back for the ApHogee Curlific Texture Treatment and another bottle of this crack.  I may even pick up the ApHogee Keratin and Green Tea Restructurizer that I was 'suppose' to get initially.  Right now Sally's Beauty Supply is having a sale on all ApHogee products, Buy 2 Get 1 Free.  So, now would be a really good time to snatch some products up!

HATE:  Shea Moisture Superfruit Complex 10-in-1 Renewal System Conditioner

Where do I even start with this?  Okay, so Shea Moisture and I have never had the best relationship.  For years, every single product I've tried in my hair has NOT worked for me at all.  The products just seem to sit on my hair not penetrate the way I like my products to.  The slip was always lacking and I just never understood why products with such great ingredients didn't work for me.  Either way, I've tended to stay far away from this brand.  Then they came out with this new Superfruit line that really caught my attention.  I decided to give the Masque a try and it was a huge hit.  For once, the product made me hair feel amazing!!  So, what's the next logical thing a product junky does?  I went and picked up another product from that same line figuring my hair would react similarly.  WRONG.  ABORT MISSION.  This Conditioner did not penetrate my hair at all and actually made my hair feel hard immediately after I applied it.  It felt so bad that I second guessed whether I had used a Leave-In Conditioner or something because it just did not feel right.  OMG, I can't even tell you how upset I was!!  My hair felt like a hard mess and detangling was not easy.  I attempted to continue with my Wash and Go routine but it was just an overall fail.  The Conditioner left my hair very frizzy and there was no amount of Camille Rose Naturals Curl Maker Gel that would help.  Eventually, I just gave up and threw in the towel.  So, you millions of people who LOVE this brand can have it.  I'm done giving it chances, DONE!  Well not done with the entire brand because their Body Line is BOMB!! LOL...

Until next time...
XOXO MCS
